The volume Macintosh HD was found corrupt and needs to be repaired.Įrror: This disk needs to be repaired. I have a storage partition (at least, that's what I think it is.my brother usually handles all of my macbook issues for me) called "Macintosh HD" underneath my SSD, and it says that it is unmounted. Disk Utility wasn't opening again, so I did what Clinton suggested (rebooting to the recovery disk) to access it. I followed the instructions given on the support page and tried troubleshooting for the kernel panic problem. I got the screen telling me to restart my Macbook for the third time (total twice yesterday and once today) and when I did, all the malfunctions returned. I forgot to mention earlier that I started receiving Kernel Panic messages around mid-day yesterday:
My Mid 2009 13" Macbook Pro is running on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 with Safari version 5.1.7 I recently replaced my hard drive with an SSD.Īnother note: System Information (Apple sign -> About This Mac -> Get More Info) failed to respond when I clicked on the "Storage" tab (not for the others).Īlright, now everything is back to being screwy. It says that the application is not responding and I have to Force Quit it.Īll three of these problems surfaced today. Well, I can see it in my sidebar, but when I click it there is no pop-up with which I can access Disk Utility itself. I've cleared my cache, gotten rid of cookies, and reset Safari-nothing's been working.Ģ) Disk Utility is not opening for me. I'm getting a blank white page for Gmail and Twitter, but if I wait long enough they eventually show the previous "unexpected dropped connection" message as well. I don't get it for all webpages, though it's been popping up for Facebook and several Apple-associated sites (like Apple Support). Wait for a few minutes, and then try again." This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. "Safari can't open the page (insert URL here) because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection.
"The operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)."ġ) I have been getting this message when I try to open certain pages in Safari: In related news Skype will be available on the iPhone though the Truphone app from January 12th this year.I have been receiving this error code whenever I try to move files to other folders, copy/paste them, or trash them: Skype have partnered with Boingo and even better, you don’t have to pay for a day’s WiFi useage, you can pay by the minute so if you just want to check you’re email while waiting for a plane it’s not going to cost you a fortune (In fact it’ll cost just £0.13/minute). The second feature is the ability to use WiFi hotspots and to pay for them using your Skype balance. This has so many uses from training to showing technical problems and just demonstrating software, I can’t wait for this to appear in the Windows version of Skype. The first is the ability to share your screen with whoever you’re chatting to. It’s not often I regret not having a Mac, but this is one of those times as the Skype Mac Beta has a couple of really cool features.
Skype 2.8 Beta for Mac OS X is available for download from the Skype website.
Skype have introduced a ton of innovations for users this year, but the Betas have all been for Windows and now it’s the turn of Mac users to get an upgrade.
